Cruising MSC Virtuosa During The Good Ship Murder Filming, Ann’s Experience

Ann Brazzier and her partner sailed with MSC Virtuosa this year, and it was their second time on board. There is something to be said for going back to a ship you already know, and this trip proved it.

Last time was all about finding their feet. This time they knew the layout, knew where everything was, and knew what to expect. That familiarity made the whole holiday more enjoyable from the moment they stepped on.

The crew were exactly as they remembered too. Friendly, approachable, and quick to sort anything out. Whenever there was a question or something needed looking at, someone was on hand almost straight away.

A film set at sea

One thing they were not expecting was to find filming taking place on board for The Good Ship Murder.

It never got in the way of the holiday at all. Anyone who fancied being an extra could sign up at the excursion desk, and there were chances to watch the run throughs and the filming itself if you wanted to.

Ann and her partner were lucky enough to have a chat with a couple of the cast members, which is not something most people can say about their cruise.

Eating well, at their own pace

The food was lovely, as it always is on Virtuosa. They ate in the buffet and also in the Minueto restaurant, which was noticeably quieter and less busy.

The package they booked this year made a real difference here. It meant they could eat whenever they fancied rather than sticking to fixed times, and it also gave them access to deck 19, where they could relax in the sun away from the busier areas of the ship.

That is the kind of detail worth asking about before you book, because it changes how the whole week feels.

Vigo and Cherbourg on their own terms

No excursions this time, and that was a deliberate choice.

They walked around Vigo and Cherbourg at their own pace, taking their time and seeing things properly rather than following a schedule. Sometimes that is exactly the right way to do a port day.

Evenings on the balcony

This year they upgraded to a balcony cabin, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions of the trip.

Sitting out there in the evening sunshine, quiet, unhurried, with the sea going past. It is a small thing that makes a big difference to how a cruise feels.

Would they do it all again?

Ann’s answer on MSC was immediate. Most definitely.

And on booking through us, in her own words: “Would we book through Jack and his team at Need That Cruise 100 percent. A company that knows how to go that extra mile for their customers.”

That means a great deal to us. It is what the whole thing is built on.

If you fancy your own MSC Virtuosa sailing, or you are weighing up which package is worth having, give the team a call on 01724 808800 or drop us a message. We will talk it through properly and find the one that suits you.
